The Stop Hunger Now meal packaging event was held at the Buster Morlino Center November 12, 2016 with five area Rotary Clubs and volunteers from various schools in attendance. The volunteers filled small meal packages with raw ingredients such as rice, soy, dehydrated vegetables and a packet containing 23 essential vitamins and minerals. These nutritional meals were shipped to the Stop Hunger Now in-country partner North Country Mission of Hope in Nicaragua.
North Country Mission of Hope in Chiquilisagua, Nicaragua, is committed to fostering hope and empowering relationship with the people of Nicaragua. The four key elements of the Mission’s operation are: ecological sustainability, education, healthcare and community development. The Mission operates in eleven barrios, nine schools, orphanages, two disability centers and server foster homes. Mark DiBiase, President-Elect, says, “Coordinating this event was such a wonderful experience and to now know where are meals have gone makes it even more real.”
